A rehabilitation aide/PT technician works under the supervision of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, or recreational therapists to assist with the care of patients. There are three types of rehabilitation therapy. Occupational therapy focusses on how injured or ill people function and on their ability to return to work. Physiotherapy stresses strength, mobility, balance and decreasing pain - the physical aspects of a disability. And in recreational therapy, patients are encouraged to take part in leisure activities, helping them to socialize and build self-esteem.
The role played by the rehabilitation aides varies from day to day; each department, whether physiotherapy, occupational therapy or recreational therapy, has its own specialized way of helping a patient recover from illness, injury and disability. Your primary role is to help the therapists provide patients with therapy but your duties vary. You may book appointments and do clerical work. You transport patients down to the therapy area. You maintain, repair and modify equipment. You also ensure that the therapy area is safe and uncluttered. Usual salary is $10/hour, depending on experience.

From the time of application to us with your resume, you can expect to be interviewed within 3 to 4 weeks. Successful candidates can expect to receive a contract offer within a few weeks after this time. The type of visa you receive depends on your nationality.
For Australian citizens, you will be eligible for an E3 visa, this allows you and your spouse (not de-facto) to enter the USA and work for the employer that has provided the visa for you in most cases this will be the agency. An E3 visa will take around 12-16 weeks to organise once all paperwork is in order.

Job Description:
This is a position where the PT would be working hand in hand with other professional PT, OT, and SLPs in the care of their patients in an outpatient clinic. Specializes in children, but also sees adults. We built our company believing in the interdisciplinary approach and see it work every day at our three clinics. We are expanding our services and are looking for a PT who likes working with kids and will work with adult orthopedic patients.
The PT will travel between clinics in Davenport, Muscatine, and Clinton Iowa to do evaluations and supervise two PTAs. Mileage is included in this position. This candidate will like to get out and mix up their day with a variety of patients and clinics.
Qualifications:
PT degree and ability to obtain an Iowa licensure for PT. New grads are welcome to apply and we will train those who desire to work with kids, but lack the experience. We are willing to sponsor H1B visa candidates, but they must have passed the PT exam and be able to process under next years cap.
